My lack of anime knowledge led me to place many anime on my “plan-to-watch” list, one of them being Fate/stay night. I was initially interested in Rin Tohsaka (allegedly a tsundere, which apparently is only in the visual novel), and she continues to be the main reason I watch it. Now halfway through the series, I’ll evaluate the 1st half of the series.
The artistic aspects of Fate/stay night are solid with the typical pretty artwork and fluid animation in anime of this type. There aren’t any parts of the art style or sound that amaze me, so there isn’t much to comment on. I’ll be happy as long as Rin and Ilya aren’t terribly animated with horribly butchered faces.
Fate/stay night is about seven Masters and seven Servants that compete against each other (meaning kill each other) for the Holy Grail, an object that will grant both the Master’s and the Servant’s a wish without any limitations. The main character, Shirou Emiya is your typical male lead that believes in good and wants to sacrifice his time and energy for everyone else. Although it still works here, he reminds me of Shinji from Evangelion with his constant whining about how Saber shouldn’t fight.

The greatest pieces of Fate/stay night are the two Masters, Ilya (which is the more relevant character for this blog) and Rin. Why are they the best features of Fate/stay night? Because Ilya is a loli and Rin is simply hawt. Oh, and Saber too I guess.
Yep, that’s all the insight I have to offer. It’s pretty good. Once I was past the 1st episode, it really pulled me in. I’m only halfway into the season, so an actual full review will come when I’m finished.
Oh, and I hate Sakura. She reminds me of Kaede from Shuffle!, whom I really hated because of her slave-like position (although Rin Tsuchimi didn’t treat her like one) to Rin. It made no sense to me.

ehhhhh FSN bored me, except for Tohsaka and the ultimate GAR works episode. I’m thoroughly tired with the “game” plot (Shana = Mai Hime = FSN) where the protagonists get some random aeon and have to kill the bad guy and forth and so on. But yeah, Tohsaka made up for everything, a million fold.
