Hey, no doubt you’ve probably read and seen and heard all the GDC coverage you can handle, but here’s a roundup anyway of the biggest news, including pre-GDC and post-GDC.
Here’s some random, Unreal Engine 3 stuff. New lifelike motion capture, ZOMG!
Joystiq covered the Too Human conference live. I heard it still sucks complete balls. Oh, Joystiq (and others) noted that Sony is teasing in-game XMB for the PS3.
Microsoft announced an avalanche of… announcements. We have Xbox Live Community Games, something I will touch upon in a future article. Also… those same games on your Zune? Don’t forget the Ninja Gaiden 2. And was anyone actually surprised by Gears of War 2? Some Fable 2 stuff too, but this is unrelated to Microsoft’s keynote.
BioShock developer Ken Levine delivers a talk regarding storytelling, among the dozens of other discussions and keynotes presented by industry people at GDC.
Yahtzee of Zero Punctuation brings the lulz twice. Once with a BioShock intro and another time at the IGF & GDCA Awards.
New COD4 patch? New hardware? ZOMG MIND CONTROL?
WiiWare, really? And what is this Pay&Play (I will talk about this in a future article)? Oh,a nd Spielberg’s new game looks awesome. Square-Enix continues to keep mum about FFCC Wii version, Crystal Bearers. Well at least Square-Enix released something.
Sony’s doing a bunch of stuff too. And talking about PSN downloads. Uhh… yeah. Developers, developers, developers? Oh wait, that’s Microsoft. Insomniac… don’t they also belong to Sony? Well, they’re being nice here by sharing their code.
“Still Alive” in MY Rock Band? And moar cake? Here’s Rock Band and “Still Alive!”
Prototype looks awesome, too. And Far Cry 2 has AIDS malaria.
And my final link (and plug to Joystiq for no reason) is this: SIMS CARNIVAL.
OH WAIT, I FORGOT THIS: PHIL HARRISON LEAVING SONY COMPUTER ENTERTAINMENT. And… possibly heading to Atari? WTF?
I realize this was terribly written, and half of these links you won’t know where they lead. There are also plenty of stuff that I haven’t linked to. Oh well. Fuck you; go look them up yourself. I just linked to Joystiq about 9001 times; you should be able to search on Joystiq for moar content.
