Minimum Tempo

My lack of anime posts goes against the primary focus of this blog, so here comes a short blab about what I’ve recently been watching.

Clannad

I’ve been keeping up with Clannad. I’m not necessarily disappointed and grieving anymore, but I still wish for a Tomoyo or Kyou ending. I just thought those two were better matched to handle Tomoya, and Nagisa will require too much care and hardship. In a way, it is cute that Tomoya has found someone he truly cares for and loves. However, regardless of what reasons you may provide, I will always advocate Tomoya x Tomoyo or Tomoya x Kyou.

Minami-ke: Okawari

The downward spiral of Makoto. I genuinely feel bad for him (and Touma to a degree) and hope that he doesn’t succumb to all this in the end. This is the only way for him to be close with Haruka-nee-sama, and he can’t exactly be honest about his feelings without being utterly crushed. I wouldn’t mind some shota here, though >_>

Minami-ke: Okawari actually has provided the lulz, something I was afraid this second season would not do. My main issue with this season is the darn usage of black, unimportant characters. It may be a way to save money, but it really ruins the experience.

Shakugan no Shana

I’ve watched very little of Shana (and Strawberry Panic) in the past two weeks, and that’s because I’ve been short on time. I did watch ep. 15 (?), which showed another Flame Haze (lolz maid) and some other Tomogura (I know that is spelled incorrectly). It shows some background of Shana’s past, although I suppose more will be revealed in the later episodes.

I love this show so much. As Extrange (or was it someone else >_>) said, “NOE MOE NOE MOE NOE MOE”. Isurugi Noe jumped to my top anime character of all time simply because she is so DAMN CUTE.

Hiromi has pissed me off, especially by warming her hands after the motorcycle is in flames (NO IT’S NOT AWESOME). Episode 9 seemed rushed with Hiromi and Shin’ichiro’s mother making amends far too quickly. Ai-chan continues to fail at ending her relationship with Miyokichi, something that will no doubt bite both of them in the butt later.

I do enjoy teh drama and seeing more of Noe, so this may be the best anime I’ve seen in 2008 so far.

So now what I will watch. MyAnimeList says that I am watching Kanon (2002) right now, but that’s not necessarily true; I haven’t watched an episode since I opened the first video maybe two months ago. I will finish that once I wrap up Shana though. Strawberry Panic has also been neglected; I’ll need to get around to finishing it.

I plan to watch:

• Agent Aika (OVA) - I hear good things about it, and it seems short enough to watch during a weekend soon.
• Black Lagoon / Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage (Anime) - I hear lots of good comments about these two, so it’ll be a definite topic of discussion and posting in the future.
• Elfen Lied (Anime) - It’s been sitting on my hard drive for months. Will watch by the end of April.
