Instead of writing my own words, “I’ll” summarize and review this episode in a different manner. All emphasis was added by me.
“The episode starts off with some meaningless tongue twisters by the Drama Club” (1). “Thank you for the ero-ero angles, cameraman!” (2). “I don’t care if Tomoyo wears glasses and hates contacts. Why the hell are they doing gym stretching in the freaking drama club room??” (3). “Sanae is counted on for sewing the costumes, Akio helps out by bringing a video of a play for reference, helpful since Nagisa doesn’t remember ever having seen an actual play!” (4). “While Nagisa is distracted, Akio and Tomoya try to look for the storybook of Nagisa’s play, should it exist. They are interrupted, though, and have to stuff things back in the shed quickly” (5).
“The day right before the festival is devoted to rehearsal, and Nagisa spends almost all of her time studying her lines. She gets really nervous while waiting backstage for her turn…” (6) “… the rest of the group begins suggesting ridiculous suggestions to help Nagisa, but they surprisingly work” (7). “That night, however, Nagisa still believe that she has done something wrong to her parents” (8). “Remembering how Akio had told him that Nagisa would think that they gave up their dreams for her,” (6) “Tomoya tries to clear her mind, which works until Nagisa has to search the shed for some flashlight batteries” (5).

“Omg Nice Boat anyone?” (3).
“It isn’t until hours later when Tomoya gets up to go to the bathroom that he finds Nagisa reading her parents’ diary and going over pictures of their younger days when Akio was an aspiring actor and Sanae was a teacher” (4). “Nagisa is now aware that her parents sacrificed their career to raise her” (8). “I never thought that Nagisa will show that look” (1). “Shortly afterwards, Akio enters to express his disappointment” (7).”
“Actually… I dunno what else to say about this episode really. I… well, emo Nagisa doesn’t really endear” (2). “As far as next-to-last episodes go, color me relatively unimpressed” (6). “I think most people would be grateful if their parents did this for them instead of beating themselves up” (8). “… after story is SO LONG how could they waste so much time on so much dumb shit” (3). “I am curious as to what kind of epilogue they will have, if any, for the show” (9). “A 2nd season is a MUST have, if not, Clannad has been screwed by KyoAni” (1). “… I firmly believe that Kyoto Animation will make good on its promise eventually” (10). “In any case, next week will be the school festival episode, from the preview, Nagisa looks like she’s a total wreck after learning about what she did to her parents” (4).

I took this idea from Joystiq’s Nega-reviews. I thought it was an interesting way to get some of the opinions and summaries of different bloggers in one place. Expect more in the future unless I receive a huge backlash for whatever reason. If you see any problems, I’ll work to fix them on future posts. In the future, I’ll try to focus on more of the reviews/impressions rather than the summaries. This was rather rushed, so I apologize if the paragraphs don’t seem too coherent. If any author wishes for their content and links to be removed, please message me in #animeblogger on irc.irchighway.net or use the Contact form above.

Interesting post, direct quoting is a pain to integrate properly in one’s writing style, yet here’s a post constructed entirely of them. How long did it take you?
Haha that’s the best Clannad summary post ever! XD
This must’ve been a right pain to construct. Highly amusing results, though. Puts me in mind of what Barthes (who has been raping my mind for the past few months) said about all writing being quotation without inverted commas.
I like the idea and the implementation. The only thing with something like this is accurately being able to express your own opinion, although I suppose all that would take would be picking and pasting the right quotes. Keep it up!
@Shirukii: Took me about 30 minutes I think. In the future I’ll spend more time on it, since this was pretty hasty. Think of this as a proof-of-concept? Haha, I don’t know. I had read all the summaries and impressions prior to when the idea came to mind, so that definitely helped. In the future, I’ll probably save quotes as I first read it; it’ll be an easier job for me =P
@Hinano: Thanks :D I especially liked your post on Clannad 21.
@IKnight: It was difficult trying to place different quotes together. Some posts didn’t have a summary or a decent amount of commentary (such as Xebek’s and Kurogane’s, respectively), and I didn’t wish to use too many from a few sources (Random Curiosity, Memento, and Subculture).
@CCY: That is the hardest part, which is finding the right quotes. Sometimes I can’t anything that fits what I want, and I don’t exactly want to misquote them.
Nice.
I like the idea.
I never thought that something like this would work.
But your post proved me wrong.
Even though it’s only ‘copy & paste’.
It’s still hard to do so..
Desu ne..
I like this a lot!
lol, it makes me want to make the writing in my Clannad 22 post really complex, just to give you a challenge. :P
Then again, you just might decide not to quote from it at all if that were the case, which would be sad. =\
Wow.. A new way to summarize the episode itself.. I like it..
I think Clannad will end it the right note.. Hope nothing is screwed up.. Good job on the summary..
