From Minimum Tempo…
This is why I love Death Note and Code Geass. The moments that make me go “OH SHIT!” and completely surprise me are the best; the seemingly complex and impossibly detailed plans (at least without Light’s Death Note or Lelouch’s Geass) are what drew me to the series. I don’t need to take time and try to understand Lelouch is scheming. Some say to “show, not tell,” but sometimes being told what happens makes it more exciting. Great episode; it is why I love this show.
From Absolute Territory…
This is reminding me of season 1. Lelouch has shitty ass stuff to work with in the beginning but gradually gets more and more allies to help him. … I’m really liking Geass right now. Although it has a lot of stuff in the storyline, it’s still a fun plot to follow. The knightmare fight scenes will probably get leet and ridiculous later on, just basing it off Lolo’s performance earlier, in his knightmare (sorry, I forgot the name of his atm). AND, C.C. still has epic moments, like in this episode when she was trying to put together a gun. It comes loose and surprises her for a second.
From THAT Anime Blog…
Overall it wasn’t quite as good as I had hoped, but still an excellent episode. They totally pulled a fast one with Li, I thought he was going to fight it out with the Black Knights but it turns out he just did it for politics. I was totally surprised by how the whole thing with Rollo turned out, and I think it’s going to be a huge driving force for later plot. Lelouch’s plan this week was pretty awesome, I knew he was going to rescue the prisoners but I didn’t think it would be such a flawless victory. He not only rescued all of his comrades but he secured Rollo and the Vincent.
From Memento…
After thinking about it, I don’t really like the way Lelouch gained Rollo as an ally. … I think this took away all of the character development that Lelouch had a few episodes ago. He’s now back on the same level as Light from Death Note especially with all of his posturing and his intention on using Rollo before throwing him like a dirtcloth. Come to think of it, this show has always remind me a lot of Death Note that it’s starting to be a bit repetitive. Basically the main character will be in difficult situation and then at the last minute he manages to defeat all of his enemies by using a combination of tactics and supernatural weapon. In Death Note it was the Death Note and in Geass it’s obviously Geass itself.

Wow, that’s a lot of detail, Sunrise. Same with the notebook Lelouch was reading.
From Ruki: The Running Blog…
It was another good episode, the Black Knights are slowly gaining power again and more characters are getting involved. The loli princess is back too, although I am still a little confused as to what her actual role is apart from making fan boys out of certain people. Suzaku has also returned to school, should be fun seeing Lelouch put up another act while making a soliloquy about how much of a bastard Suzaku is for betraying him.
From クロス† チャネル…
Great episode. Made up for the shitty Shirley filled episode of last week. This entire episode I could just feel the tension oozing from Lelouch’s body. If this was anything other than fiction the situations Lelouch got wouldn’t have worked out so well. And yet, I was still on the edge of my seat wondering if everything would end up okay in the end. That is the appeal of Code Geass.

Still harboring feelings for him, eh, Villetta?
From Kurogane’s Anime Blog…
WTF! WTF! WHAT THE FUCK! … Oh god, Lulu, or should I say the Sunrise scriptwriters, are masters at such plot twistings. Hell, I felt a bit of pity for poor Rollo myself. … That was so totally and masterfully executed, that while one part of me is logically declaring the sheer convolutedness of it, the other parts are saying, “HOLY SHIT THAT WAS SUM FUCKING AWESOME MINDFUCK.” I guess it’s moments like this that will probably define the second season of Code Geass, if they continue onwards like this.
From Otakuism…
Thank you, Sunrise. For providing meaningless bits of background information in almost perfect english. Really, hardly a bit of engrish in sight. Of course, this just makes what the hell is Britannia more confusing. Not only is there a House of Lords (IN AMERICA), but places like Tennessee and Virginia still exist. And yay for the brief mention of Charlottesville, which is only about sixty miles from where I live. It’s always interesting to find little parts of your life mentioned in anime. … Aside from all that, another great episode. Lelouch’s mindfuck was at an all time high, managing to screw all of his enemies, gain a new ally, and still make people believe he’s actually a student.
Well, it seems like most enjoyed it. Lelouch, oh you genius you.

Oddly enough, I don’t think there was anyone that didn’t mention that scene with C.C and the gun. When I was typing up my entry I put it in thinking no one else would really make a big deal out of it, but boy was I wrong.
Wow massive quoting post. Where am I? xD
Scriptwriters failed to impress me with Lulu’s schemes this time around, though. Seemed like a lot of tactical blunders imo.
That last pic took me by surprise.
