I had no idea an RSS Awareness Day existed, but it’s apparently a creation of Daily Blog Tips. Even though it’s late (only 4 hours left of May 1 here), I believe RSS is a great technology that everyone should know of. Maybe next year I’ll remember and post =P
Anyway, I will take this post and talk about Common Craft. Common Craft is a two person company that produces videos that explain. What do they explain? They explain various websites and web technologies in simple, easy-to-understand videos that enhance the learning experience by providing examples and clever visuals. The videos use what the site calls “PaperWorks.” They use a whiteboard and paper images to easily convey the purpose of and functionality of the web service or site.
Whether the videos are about RSS, Twitter, or Google Maps’s My Location, the Common Craft Show makes it a breeze to understand all of these websites and services.
I love this site; their videos have helped me explain sites like Twitter and things like social bookmarking to other people in a way that helps both visually and auditorally.
Here’s an example of a video: podcasting.

I was totally unaware of this day. I couldn’t live without RSS, then again maybe I should try to live without RSS for a while.
Common Craft is awesome, it takes real brains to make things so simple. I pointed someone to their Twitter vid just the other day.
