Part five of twelve in my part of CCY’s Twelve Moments in Anime 2008 project. These posts are not really in any particular order. The last two moments probably have the most intentional placement. This post also contains spoilers.

Sakagami Tomoyo is by far my favoritest (fuck you, Owen. Don’t correct me) heroine in Clannad. There is just something so wonderful about her that makes her the best. Perhaps it’s her determination, her physical prowess, or her dedication; whatever it may be, she kicked Kyou and Nagisa out of my heart in Clannad: Another World, Tomoyo Chapter.

Because I have homework and stuff to do (or more like, just stuff to do that I won’t start on until three hours later), I’ll copy/paste the moment from Totali’s summary of the special episode:

Tomoya meets Tomoyo one day after graduation, as she tells him that it was finally decided that the sakura trees would not be cut down. She expresses that it took a long time, and she also lost something in the process. Tomoyo again states that she likes Tomoya, and that she had even started to like him even more. Tomoyo then reveals that she had always been watching Tomoya, as he tried his best to do well without her. Tomoya reveals that he finally got a job, though it was close to his home in a small recycling shop. Tomoya then suggests that Tomoyo would be able to go very far in the future, but he was different in that he would only be able to stay in the city. Tomoya is shocked, however, when Tomoyo states that she will stay by his side. He wonders why she would do this, but she of course states that this was her choice. The two finally agree to be with each other again, both embracing each other in tears.

What can I say? I love Tomoyo for her awesome dedication and love for Tomoya. I squealed like an FYG reading Lelouch and Suzaku fuck in a doujinshi (thanks for teaching me that, Hinano) and tears flooded my face.

Fuck Nagisa, I need moar Tomoyo.

Even better than that moment was when I watched this part right after:

In the following days, Tomoyo would simply be waiting with a lunch for Tomoya as he returned from work.
