The spring season finished like a couple of weeks ago, and I haven’t blogged about actual anime in a while, so I have decided to write about the three spring shows I have finished watching (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya 2 are still airing, and I haven’t gotten around to watching more than a couple of episodes of other shows like Hayate s2). There are Haruhi-chan and Churuya-san… but I’ll post on those later.
Oh, did I say write? I meant post a picture for each. I don’t think anything will be better than the roller coaster image I had for Toradora! though…
Higashi no Eden (Eden of the East)
K-ON!
K-ON! is special in the fact that it gets three images.

The change in my expression as the show went on, from left to right.
Ristorante Paradiso
OK OK no, I actually do have a paragraph or so to say about each one.
Eden of the East was a fun ride, amusing us with Johnnies and flying sadist woman and an epic naked NEET invasion. Overall it was by far one of the more unique stories as of late, connecting to reality through mentions of terrorism and September 11 and giving us a question to think about: If you had such a phone and that incredible amount of money, how would you improve your country? It was attractive, well-written (for the most part), and always moving. Some may be dismayed by the continuation of story in two feature-length movies, but hey, at least we’re getting more of it.
Everyone had something to say about K-ON!. Quite a controversial show in the fact that it’s a moe bonanza by KyoAni; you’re going to get the people that love it (Shin, @cowboybibimbop, and myself… or at least I hope the other two loved it) and the people that hate it (or simply don’t find it worth watching), such as Evirus and faggot lolikitsune. Sometimes the jokes were reused a little too much, the animation quality wasn’t up there with Clannad, and drama was added almost unnecessarily, but it all worked out in the end. I laughed during every episode, and that’s all that matters for me. Plus, every character is too cute and attractive. Yui <3 Mio <3 Ritsu <3 Tsumugi <3 Azusa <3 Ui <3
This season’s most pleasant surprise (out of the what, seven or so spring shows that I started?) was definitely Ristorante Paradiso. I had the first episode downloaded, but I probably would’ve never watched it if it weren’t for koda’s… uh, praise for it. As a result, this show about a young girl and a restaurant of older, spectacle-wearing men quickly became my favorite spring show. The characters are actually interesting and well-developed, and the food in the show looks so appetizing. A mere slice-of-life romance sure, but it’s a damn good one at that.

I hated K-ON too.
Nice quick rundown of the best and near worst shows of the season. I’ll have to finish watching RP.
Hate it or love it, K-ON! was the best anime last season.
I didn’t finish Eden, I suppose I probably will when the movies come out. I did find it to be a nice mix of intriguing mystery and sorta-goofy fun.
K-ON… I tried, I really did. It just bored me to tears. Cute characters doing cute things is ok for a minute, but the humor fell flat most of the time and none of the personalities were especially engaging (except maaaybe Sawako). Mad props to the show for a couple DMC references though.
Higashi no Eden’s ending was spectacular. no questions asked
I really liked K-ON. It had all of the moeness of Card Captor Sakura condensed into 13 episodes. Plus the songs were really good. My favorite was “My Love is a Stapler”
Personally I found Eden a bit overrated. K-ON…bleh.
