Really? Come on, bloggers, really? Does Owen’s blatant flaming and ridiculous banning of CJ Blackwing really warrant so much attention?

For those of you that don’t read other anime blogs (yes, that one person) and are unaware of the current situation, CJ Blackwing of Borderline Hikikomori was recently booted off of the Anime Blogging Collective, a private group of bloggers that aim to foster “community, discussion, and traffic on issues we deem pertinent enough to warrant our time on.” In theory, the group is a wonderful idea that promotes rich and thoughtful discussion and posts for the benefit of the anime blogging community. This past Valentine’s Day, the ABC members presented some great content for the rest of us to digest.

Now back to the issue: Owen’s removal of CJ Blackwing from the ABC was rather… poorly thought out. Apparently, simply for not watching Clannad and true tears, CJ Blackwing was banned by Owen, the writer of Cruel Angel Theses and presumably the head of the ABC. Owen sent CJ a reply which has been interpreted to be “ridiculously sexist.”

The rest of the anime blogging community has been sounding off about the whole ABC debacle by labeling the group as a bunch of elitist jerks, although DS of Daijoubu has shown that many members are apparently leaving the group.

Well, did this situation REALLY need that much attention? Joining the ABC was a completely voluntary move; there was no reason to ever join it at all! Leaving it is quite simple; you simply leave the Google Group and you are fucking done. You have no more ties with that group of snobs anymore. Or rather, Owen, who everyone has made out to be a douchebag.

Frankly, this whole situation is ridiculous. CJ Blackwing should’ve settled this matter privately; it’s like all of you are unwilling to solve the matter without public support. Do you need a group of people behind you to settle such a pointless matter like this? And if you are unable to continue your ABC membership, who the fuck cares? Will your removal from the ABC really affect your blog posts? No, it fucking won’t. It’s not like the ABC was the fucking government and was somehow forcing you to write certain posts. Also, Kaioshin Sama of When Anime Past Meets Present has seemed to realize that he can choose to ignore other people! And that’s something you others can damn well realize.

Unless this whole controversy somehow affects your blog in a relevant manner (SEO or ads), who the fuck cares? Everyone has his or her own opinion, and if Owen is sexist, then let him be sexist! Just opt to stay out of the collective and there’s no need to go on! Despite the fact that I’m attacking some of you right now, I will say that assaulting Owen and the ABC with your words do not make you any better than him. It puts you at the same level when you things such as “Avoid this monster at all costs.”

As for Owen, you pulled some stupid moves here as well. There was no need to ban CJ Blackwing for such a stupid reason; everyone has different tastes. Not liking something is called having an opinion, which is something most blogs (yours included) have. And I damn refuse to sit through twelve hours of something that I do not want to watch; so if I hated Clannad, I wouldn’t want to watch it for eight more fucking hours! That’s like saying any of us bloggers are closed-minded because we have not seen every anime to have ever existed. Your comment referring to female anime bloggers was also unnecessary; sex is not an issue here.

So tell me, why does this thing matter so much? Why couldn’t you all have left if you did not agree with the leadership?

EDIT (04/01 12:24AM PDT): I hate the Anime Blogging Collective. LET THIS BE KNOWN.

Well, maybe not that much. They totally got me, I have to admit.
